Born in Colombia and based in Sydney, Valentina Ramirez is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores memory, emotion, and the quiet significance of everyday experience. Working primarily with oil and mixed media, she draws from personal memories and fleeting moments, translating them into works that move between representation and abstraction.

Valentina holds a Bachelor of Industrial Design from Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Colombia, and an Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts from Sydney Art School. Her background in design continues to inform her approach to composition, materiality, form, and colour, while her visual arts practice has allowed her to develop a more intuitive and expressive relationship with these elements.

Her work is grounded in the idea that memories are not fixed, but shift, soften, and transform over time. Through colour, gesture, and layered surfaces, Valentina explores what remains of a moment once its details begin to disappear. Painting becomes a way of returning to these fragments—not to recreate them exactly, but to give form to the feelings they leave behind.
